    Laparoscopic surgery is a technique wherein surgical procedures like removal of Gall bladder or removal of appendix can be successfully done with small keyhole incisions in place of opening up of the abdomen with large incision. Carbon dioxide gas is used to inflate the abdomen so as to open up space for putting in instruments and then performing required surgical procedures. Patients can be mobilized the same evening and discharged the very next day. The benefits of laparoscopic surgery are early return to work, less pain, faster recovery & better cosmetics.

    Hernia is an abnormal protrusion(bulge) of abdominal viscera through a weakened part of abdominal wall.


    The common types of hernia are Groin(Inguinal), Belly button(Umblical) And Previous surgery site(Incisonal).

    Anyone can get hernia from new born baby to elderly. At risk are person engaged in hard labour like lifting heavy goods with chronic cough, smokers and obese persons with previous open abdominal surgeries are common to get hernia.

    Hernia is easy to recognize usually presenting as bulge under the skin especially on standing or straining and disappears on lying down.

    Surgery is the only treatment for hernia. It can be done by open and laparoscopic methods. 

    A hydrocele is a collection of fluid around the testis in the scrotum. It is a painless conditon. Surgery is the only treatment of choice. It’s a Day care procedure and patient can be discharged the same day after operation.
